The left has spent a lot of time thinking about ALEC, the evil organization of aging state and local legislatures, who gather twicea year to discuss the finer points of limited government, swap recipes for vampire blood and engage in friendly rounds of golf. Apparently, ALEC is single-handedly ruining America, even though they only found out about it a little over a year ago, and the Democratic-leaning legislators have an identical conference.
But whatever.
Last weekend, the entire league of George Soros-funded organizations came together for their secret, yearly meeting, not in a ramshackle castle atop a villainous looking mountain in Transylvania, but at the high-end, ultra-posh, up-to-$3000-per-night Biltmore Hotel in Miami.
To…uh…discuss how to rid the world of the super-rich. Or something.
A secretive network of left-wing billionaires and their political operatives descended on the luxurious Biltmore Hotel in Miami over the weekend to discuss strategy for the coming elections.
The location of the conference had been kept a closely guarded secret by the members and guests of Democracy Alliance (DA), a collection of ultra-wealthy liberal donors formed in 2005, and is reported here in a Washington Free Beacon exclusive.
Attendees roamed the grounds at the 150-acre tropical resort on their way to cocktail gatherings, salsa dance lessons, and workshops such as “Occupy the Voting Booth” and “The 1 Percent Rule.” Local police guarded entrances as members attended a “partners only” meeting in the hotel’s Country Club Courtyard…
When it comes to “insane amounts of money,” however, the Biltmore is hard to beat. Shiny black Maseratis, McLarens, and Jaguars fill the parking lots; exotic finches flutter about the lobby; and the hotel’s luxury spa offers “Antioxidant Foam Wraps” and “Moroccan Oil Scalp Massages” for a rate equivalent to $3 per minute (gratuity not included).
I assume the location of the conference was a closely guarded secret because, despite the leadership of the 99%’s commitment to income redistribution, such redistribution is best practiced on people who’ve earned their money legitimately and not on those who funnel their trust funds into Media Matters and MSNBC baseball cap collections. I also suspect it was secret because it was insanely expensive, which should have indicated to the large number of impressionable youth they gin up that they are not exactly what they seem. Not that that’s some sort of shocking surprise.
At any rate, being a rich Democrat seems like an effective way to eliminate guilt altogether. Maybe that’s what I’ll endeavor to be when I grow up. If other poor people don’t kill and eat me first.
