RESPONSE: It may have been a more effective use of campaign funds if Greater Wisconsin had simply hired P. Diddy. Vote or DIE, m*****f***ers.

At this point, I’m predicting that tomorrow’s Wisconsin recall vote is very close.
Not because Scott Walker isn’t basically 10 points ahead of Tom Barrett in every poll taken since before Tom Barret was even born. Not because the Democratic National Committee has basically given up on sending cash to Wisconsin lest they look like they were wasting even more money. Not because, in lieu of sending a real President, the White House sent Bill Clinton to campaign against the notion that public sector unions are raping the state budget and forcing them to pay a little more toward their pensions and benefits, while still paying significantly less than people employed in the real world is essentially apocalyptic.
Nope. All that should mean an easy victory for Walker on Tuesday. What I’m talking about is that people like the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund are pulling sh*t like this.
Essentially, what this is is a record of past votes by neighbors of Ann Althouse, the law professor and blogger. The objective is to demonstrate that her neighbors are either voters or non-voters and to “name and shame” non-voters, presumably into voting for Tom Barrett, as Greater Wisconsin Voter Fund asks for its donations through Act Blue, the crowd-sourced fundraising apparatus of liberal groups across the nation and because some people (presumably those with a liberal voting record) actually got this letter:
Dear registered voter
Scott Walker won in 2010 because too many people stayed home!
<snip>
We are sending this mailing to you and your neighbors to publicize who does and does not vote.
<snip>
After the June 5th election, public records will tell everyone who voted and who didn’t.
Do your civic duty-vote and remind your neighbors to vote.
(List of names, addresses and voting history follows)
The implication seems to be that if you don’t vote, they will know. And like Liam Neeson in that movie where they steal his daughter and whatever they will find you. And they have the money to do it. According to MSNBC, Greater Wisconsin Committee, the parent of the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund, took $500,000 donation from AFSCME and a $900,000 donation from the Democratic Governors Association to fuel massive GOTV campaign ahead of the Tuesday vote. They’re also the motivating force behind such stellar things as RecallScottWalker.org. As a C4, their donors are protected in return for giving up the ability to take a tax deduction, but a significant list of public contributors is available here (its public record, after all):
The Greater Wisconsin Committe does have a number of board members. At the very least, Jane Gellman, GWC’s VP is a major Democratic donor who appears to have once supported John Edwards. The others appear to be major movers and shakers for Democratic and “social justice” causes as well. SHOCKER.
The nice part is, obviously, if something weird comes up on one of these mailers, you’ll know whose information is being used for alleged vote fraud, but otherwise, this is suuuuuuper creepy sh*t. As in, threateningly creepy. As in, serial killer, “I’m watching you from in the house” creepy. I bet one of these board members has a John Waters-style pencil mustache and some eighties glasses, because this has totally got “The Creep” written all over it.
Eesh.

Creepy as in David Axlerod combover and mustache?
And of course the threat that a non-voter’s neighbors would know is merely the pretext of this public shaming gambit.
The subtext is that union goons would know.
So they want to see that you voted do they? Then do it! The only way to end these threats is to vote against politicians,and the POLITICAL PARTY,that supports this kind of intimidation tactics.
All the more reason for former non-voters to show these thugs who’s boss by voting for Walker.
